At the same time others choose to skip eating breakfast due to time restrictions and the lack of desire to consume food early in the morning. However, eating breakfast is essential for energy throughout the day and one’s overall health.
Breakfast provides one an abundant amount of energy for tasks throughout the day. Eating breakfast revitalizes one’s glucose level, which is an essential source of energy for the body and for stable blood sugar levels. The stability in blood sugar levels that breakfast provides is also necessary for good muscle movement and for the brain to function well. Without consuming breakfast, one may feel tired and cranky before their next meal. Many may even find it difficult to focus on their tasks due to their hunger, reducing the quality of their performance in their tasks. The energy breakfast provides is a compelling reason to consume breakfast, if possible given busy lives.
Eating breakfast is also crucial for one’s health. Many foods consumed for breakfast, such as eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, and chia seeds, have an abundant amount of nutrients, including calcium and iron. These breakfast foods often help many meet their daily nutrient needs. In fact, research has found that those who do not consume breakfast may find it more difficult to gain all the nutrients they need. Data has also found that consuming breakfast daily lowers the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes for many, while not consuming breakfast may increase the risk of obtaining a cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, breakfast is essential to lowering hunger and resisting the urge to snack on foods between meals. Such reductions in desire to eat constantly to subdue hunger is crucial for many to maintain a healthy weight. The benefits of consuming breakfast for one’s overall health in regards to nutrients, diseases, and weight make breakfast an important meal.
Breakfast is an important meal, and those who have the ability to eat breakfast everyday should. For maximal health benefits and an abundant amount of energy, breakfast foods should be healthy and include a variety of carbohydrates, protein, and fiber. Healthy foods for breakfast include cheese, fruits, nuts, and whole wheat bread. However, eating even a doughnut is better than nothing for breakfast.
